Winner of the 2024 AIA Huron Valley Honor Award in the Historic Preservation category!

Located at 112 E. Grand River Ave. in Howell, Michigan, the Commiskey building was constructed in 1889 and holds the prominent northwest corner of Grand River and State Street. It is a contributing resource of the Howell Downtown National Register Historic District.

This project focused on the restoration and preservation of the ornate Victorian era Grand River and State Street façades. Removal of non-period items was a main focus of this project, thus early photographs from 1910-1915 became the guides for design decisions.
