The McFate Group will provide estimates at major changes in systems or components and a pre-determined points in the design. We will price options to determine if a major system change should be considered. We can generally respond immediately with components pricing or within two weeks for a full project estimate. We propose estimates at the following times:
Project estimate #1 at the end of schematic design.
Project estimate #2 at the end of design development
Propose Value Engineering (VE) session.
Project estimate #3 at 50% CD’s.
Provide final Construction Budget upon Bid Awards to the Subcontractors.
Budget updated on a monthly basis.
Our records concerning accuracy of design estimates and final bids is excellent. We account for unfinished documents by carrying a design contingency in the estimates. The design contingency reduces as more information is incorporated into the documents. We are historically 3-5% below the last project estimate.
