Detroit-based Motor City Electric (MCE) is one of the largest contractors in the nation. Serving the United States and Canada, MCE offers complete general electrical contracting services, from design and installation, to operations, maintenance, and service. MCE has built an organization centered around service, capability, safety, and quality. Motor City Electric Utilities is a subsidiary company of MCE.
Completed in August 2025, the new Motor City Electric Utilities headquarters in Lenox Township is 35,000 square feet total, with a building footprint of 30,000 square feet and a 5,000 square-foot second floor addition. The front of the building includes office and flex space, a large conference room, a break room, and restrooms for office and warehouse employees. The warehouse area is broken into three components: a tool storage area, a parts storage area, and a truck loading and unloading zone with a wash bay.
The McFate Group served as the design-build contractor and construction manager for this project. The McFate Group has been hired to complete two more projects for Motor City Electric in Canton, Michigan and Perry, Michigan.
